Today we spent most of the day standing back and thinking about the big picture stuff. If we figure out as much as we can early we hope to save redoes. A big aspect is looking at what we can and can’t do with multi player as this will be the most complicated part of the process.
As it is now we are looking at breaking the units into groups of 3 tiers, with 3 units per tier, using hard counters to create the best balance possible. After brainstorming a bit the total unit types (we choose simple descriptive names on purpose not just out of lazyness.) look like this:
Tier 1 units:
1. Sworthwrath - (swordsman)
2. Archidon - (archer)
3. Dashinite - (fast simple spearman)
Tier 2 units:
1. Spearton - (heavy armored spear throwing Spartan type)
2. Wingidon - (flying Archer)
3. Deads - (zombie type unit)
Tier 3 units:
1. Magikill - (wizard)
2. Giant - (giant)
3. Madusa - (typical Madusa character with snakes for hair)
Additional units:
1. Miner
2. Keeper (special unit that defends the monuments)
